I had also made my first Pinterest craft. I've had lots of great success with the recipes I've tried from there, but this was my first craft. They turned out pretty cute!
We set off down the street in search of candy. Liam had this crazy laugh as he ran down the driveways - Josh thought he sounded like Beavis.
We made it down our whole street, and we had started to head up another street. Josh had run back home for some "adult beverages" (once we realized that ALL the other parents out with their kids had them too). We got to this one house - the little boy is a year younger than Zachary, and the boy's mom is a little nutty. Nice, but nutty. She offered us refills several times, before we moved on. A few houses down was when the great 2011 Halloween Take-Down occurred. Zachary totally bit it in someone's driveway. He went down face-first into the pavement. Road rash on one elbow, the back of the other hand, and the bridge of his nose. I honestly have no idea how he scraped up that part of his nose but not any other part of his face.
In the midst of all of that, his candy spilled all over the driveway. Liam was so sweet, & just started picking Zachary's candy up without anyone asking him to. Once we were able to calm him down enough to get him up off the ground, we headed back to the party mom's house (where we were offered more refills) for ice & band-aids. Once we got him all cleaned up, we headed back outside (where party mom offered us refills, yet again). By this point we had only been out for about 35 minutes, but Zachary was ready to go home, and then Liam decided he wanted to go home too. So we went home & sat on the front porch handing out candy for the next half hour or so. It wasn't exactly the Halloween we had planned, but I think they still had fun, and they seemed happy with their haul.
Hope everyone had a Happy Halloween!
